Today we all went to the doctor to find out that you are gaining weight and a good rate. You are up to 7 lbs. 8oz. You are now above your birth weight! Because you are so long you are starting to move out of new born outfits and into 0-3M. Exciting times!
We are finally starting to make a dent in the baby supplies that we were given before the birth. I can now reclaim some of the space and populate it with things we use rather than just inventory.
To celebrate your birthday, we gave you a bath. You were becoming a stinky baby. You were fine during the bath but not so much afterwards. The first two shots are of your sour faces prior to the bathing.

Here are some video’s of little man. I would post more but he really doesn’t do a whole lot at this point. Sleep, Cry, Eat, Poop…that is about it.
Our 90+ lbs. 2 year old Shepherd Mix Sam gives Joseph a kiss while Bandit lounges on the couch. I am wondering whose house this really is…
Joseph got to go to our favorite Mexican restaurant this evening. Laura and I ate dinner here the night before he was born. He seemed to enjoy the experience. Slept the entire time.
Today you are one week old. We just got 4 inches of snow and the city is beautiful. Not sure if we are going to make it out but you never know.
The last week has been amazing. Your mom and I have been adjusting to the new lifestyle. We are changing diapers, feeding, and just sitting and watching. The sleep schedule is mostly holding up but we are definitely not getting as much as we were used to.
Yesterday you got your first bath. You were a little funkier than we thought as the bath water was a little murky afterwards. You didn’t really care for it that much but once we dried you off and put you back into your outfit, you calmed down and went back to sleep.
We are looking forward to the next week and are taking in every moment.
Today, we took you out to your first doctors checkup. Everything went well and you are gaining weight as you should. Afterwards, we went to Target to get a few things and then down to BluegrassNet to show you off to my second family.
Later on this evening, momma fed you some tasty milk and this is the end result. It doesn’t get any better than this.
Tomorrow morning we finally get to take Joseph home. We cannot wait to get into the groove. It is impossible to establish a schedulebin the hospital. I miss my four legged children also.
